Poems

We have been learning how to do haiku poems.  These are my haiku.

We also wrote acrostic poems. Here are my poems. 

Sun is so hot.

Under the pretty tree.
Mud is disgusting.
Making cake.
Eating pie.
Reading a book.

Cooking muffins.

Hopping like a bunny.

Riding a bike.

Ice-block.

Snow.

Talking to your mum.

Making cupcake.

At the beach.

Santa is coming tonight.

Vaseline saucer

First we drew a picture of what we wanted to do on our saucer so we had an idea for our real one.
Second we cut our picture then put them in a pile.
Finally we made our Vaseline saucer with flower petals then we put them on a table.

Christmas Tree

Today Team Awa were making poems about Christmas. First we sketched our Christmas tree  and while we did that we wrote words around it. After that we went on our chromebook to write a poem about Christmas.

Art

This term we have completed two pieces of art.

One was inspired by an artist named Kadinsky who used coloured circles in his work.

We looked at the contrast between warm and cool colours and the black and white of the buildings.

Our second piece was using the Maori words we have learnt and using these to create a visual picture.
The words become the shape of the picture.

Some things I did well was on my buildings was the decorations.

Some things I could improve on are colouring my background better.

We have been learning to form our letters

 correctly and to use capital letters in the correct place.

I am good at writing it out correctly.

I need to get better at sitting my letters on the line.

Greats and Grands

Last week we had our Greats and Grands day. We wrote poems for our grandparents. Here is my poem about why my grandparents are so special.
